Basque

Most people have never heard of it. But if you live in Bakersfield, it is no doubt a staple. People love Basque food! The Basque people came from the Pyrenees mountains between Spain and France. How they ended up in Bakersfield, I'm really not sure. And let me say - they eat some funky food. The traditional "setup" that comes with dinner includes salad, salsa, beans, bread, cow tongue, spaghetti and french fries. I have yet to brave the tongue, but Ross loves it, as does his family. All the Burdettes (Emma is with cousins Madison and Donovan above) commandeered 3 tables at "Pyrenees" and chowed down.
